In late April of 2023, one disgruntled White Sox fan decided to call into his city's local sports radio show, ESPN Chicago 1000 AM. What followed was an epic seven-minute viral rant, and the show's hosts were happy to sit back and let the caller do their jobs for them; detailing exactly why the team's disappointing 8-21 start was everything ownership deserved.

That caller had reason to be upset. Just a few years ago, the White Sox were one of the hottest clubs in baseball, with a core of future young stars like Yoán Moncada, Eloy Jiménez, and Luis Robert Jr. Tim Anderson was fresh off winning the 2019 batting title, and Carlos Rodón and Dylan Cease comprised a decent one-two rotation punch. 

In 2024, only one of the above listed players is still part of the starting lineup, and a combination of bad roster moves, injuries, and a notoriously toxic clubhouse environment have devastated the team. 

At time of writing, the White Sox own a 31-109 record, and aren't just the worst team in baseball; they might be the worst team ever assembled. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong, and they're still finding new ways to lose.
